Sea Link Connectors

Inland Waterways Authority of India

Bandra End Connector

Understanding

The Bandra End Connector is a grade-separated interchange in the sea at the junction between the VBSL and the existing BWSL. This Trumpet Interchange arrangement is illustrated in Figure. The Bandra End Connector will provide free-flow interchangeability of traffic in all directions between the VBSL (Versova Bandra Sea link) and BWSL (Bandra Worli Sea link).

Otters club connector (Cartor Road)

Understanding

The Otters Club connector starts as a Trumpet interchange on the main sea link and connects on the land side at Carter Road at an at-grade intersection as shown in Figure. The connector runs as an elevated structure in the sea. The interchange provided along the main sea link bridge will facilitate free flow movement of traffic in all directions.

Juhu Koliwada connector

Understanding

One of the two intermediate connectors between the Bandra and Versova ends of the VBSL is the connector planned at the Juhu-Koliwada location. The connector runs as an elevated viaduct in the sea, starts as a Trumpet interchange on the main sea link and connects on the land side with Juhu Tara road at an at-grade T-junction. The Trumpet interchange provided along the main sea link bridge will facilitate free flow movement of traffic in all directions as shown in Figure. The connector runs on a portal for the end part and traverses over a nallah.

Versova End Connector

Understanding

The proposed VBSL is presently shown to be connecting with land at Versova, as shown in Figure. The connector starts with an interchange on the main VBSL sea link and ends at an at-grade intersection in the Nana-Nani Park area. The connector runs from the interchange on the sea link as an elevated structure in the sea until its landing point at Nana-Nani Park The interchange provided along the main sea link bridge will facilitate free flow movement of traffic in all directions
